Camping

Let me tell you, we had a great time with the Russell's again! We went to Christopher Creek and we stayed at their cabin. We were going to camp out, but we could not find a good camping spot after driving around for 2 hours . There are so many rules and regulations for campers that we finally gave up.

The kids slept in the cabin but we put up our tent in the backyard and slept in it. We had so much fun and we laughed a lot!

Brigham and Berlyn were such good pals.

Berlyn was adorable! She loved her cake as you see, she was so happy to see her present, everything was perfect.

I cannot believe how fast time goes by. She was just a tiny new born and now she is trying to walk. She is the greatest blessing in our life. She is so funny and she has a really special personality ( that's what everybody is telling me so far). We enjoy every minute with her.

Just a few things about her:

-She loves her plush animals, she gives them hugs all the time.

-She likes watching Baby Einstein DVDs.

-She is pointing at everything and wants us tell her what it is.

-She likes watching me dance.

-She adores her Daddy! I can not give Lafe a hug without her pushing me away from him.

-She understands a lot of words (in Hungarian of course). She already says: dog, milk, eat in Hungarian. The only thing that she says in English is bye-bye.

-She shakes her head if she does not want something (which is better than screaming but she does it a lot).

-She sings in her car seat (so cute).

-She loves books and she can point at things in the book. Sometimes I see her reading a book, she is pointing and talking at the same time! She is so smart!!!

OK, I guess that's it. I guess I am just a proud Mom.

So anyway, I ran across this ariticle on MSN, which normally I wouldn't give a second look, cause hey, it's MSN, but it was talking about the worst blogs they could dig up. So, I investigated and am I glad I did. The adventures of Pat O'Neil is a must see. He writes quite a bit, but if you just randomly pick a sentence you can't seem to go wrong. Just a sampling of the greatness you will encounter, "I had begun to learn about the evils of meth and of ninjas, especially the evils of ninjas with meth. That's some kind of super crazy evil I can't even begin to describe." I mean, only a genius could write something like this.... or maybe a genius with meth. And this is just the beginning. If you are bored and looking for some entertainment you won't be disappointed. That is all.

My Surprise Birthday

Anyway, so on my birthday my dad tells me we need to meet up with the owner of Golfland to discuss another project we are going to do for them. We go over at about 3:30 which is late and I wanna get home. I thought people were coming over for a BBQ. Anyway, in walks Bea, Cosmo and Jenn, Wood, and Sean with an ice chest. Chunk and Sloth showed up a little bit later. So they proceed to set up this cake right there. I don't know how she did such a good job of setting me up, but it was way good, I was completely clueless.

Just a few shots of the fun we had. This is Cosmo coming down the Bonsai (or "Bonzi" as they call it). He cheated everytime he raced down. Jerk.

Trip to Dick and Erica's

So, for my birthday we decided to take a trip to Buffalo. It had been forever since we had gone anywhere, what with being pregnant and having a baby. We were really scared of what Berlyn would do on the flight, but she slept both ways and never made a sound. Here is her first flight ever.

When we got there it was good times. Ella wanted a cookie that we were all eating and she stuffed the whole thing in her mouth and then chewed it all up and decided she didn't want it anymore and spit it out in Erica's hand. Eww gross. We made Erica hold it in her hand while we got the cameras, she wasn't too happy bout that.

While we were there we had to try out the Bumbo chair. Berlyn got a kick out of it.

The weather was really nice a couple of days while we were there and we went to Crystal beach in Cananada. It was nice, but Richard and I went out to this old pier and jumped off and we tried to swim back the long way. Richard did fine, I, on the other hand, almost drowned. Good times.

Later we decided to go to Marine Land in Canada and the weather wasn't so nice. It rained and hailed like crazy, so we spent a good hour hiding under and over hang, and then left. "Everyone loves Marine Land!"

We stopped in at Mr. Potato Heads and got my favorite Canadian food, Poutine! It of course washed away the sadness from not being able to go to Marine Land.

Then we stopped off at the falls to take a quick pic. Ooooh, look at all the water!

Then on our last day we went to eat at Friendly's, it was pretty good. They surprised me with song and ice cream at the end. Song = not so good, ice cream = delicious.

She loves going for a walk, she gets so excited when she sees the stroller, ha-ha-ha, I am just kidding, she probably really doesn't care as long as she isn't bored.

So, Kaya is always wanting to check our Berlyn. She will inch her way to get closer and closer to her. She stares and does a lot of sniffing, with wide eyes. I have concluded that either she is being protective and is really interested in Berlyn and the new smells and what not or she wants to eat her. That is the only other time I have seen her act like that, is around food.

Berlyn's Second Doctor Visit

Well, we went to Berlyn's second doctor visit thinking that she might have gained a few ounces or something. They threw her on the scale and from her birth weight she gained exactly a pound, more if you count the fact that she lost quite a bit at first. She is gonna be a little chubster. Oh, and she grew an inch too? That isn't all that exact, but still.

Don't know what she is doing with that arm; maybe she has an imaginary friend or something. It's funny how you have to throw yourself in front of their gaze otherwise they would never be looking at you.

Grab and force that head to look the right way! She has got a strong neck for a little booger, she can turn that thing this way and that.

Woohoo! There it is! I finally found it! It's the only thing that she got from daddy. Look at that thing, it definitely didn't come from mammy. I am quite proud to be able to pass on that well-known ginormous tongue I have. From me, it's the best thing she could have gotten!

By the time we went to the hospital at about 4am Bea ended up being dialated to a 4. She didn't stay there long though, she went to an 8 in about two and a half hours. Bea was progressing too fast and needed to slow things down so she get could get another dose of medicine she needed, so when she got the epidural put in it helped. She was able to sleep and get her other dose and get ready for the pushin.

I had to get the two of us at some point,

and by the looks of it she hadn't received the epidural yet.

Yay, our first picture together and I basically have my eyes closed (we have another one but Bea has hers closed).

New Year's Eve we went to check out some fireworks at the top of a parking garage. They started when we were going around the first loop of the parking garage, by the time we got to the top they were already done. So, we basically got a nice drive out of it.

So Becca's family invited us to go camping with them and it was about time we got out and went camping. It was very much needed. In the middle of the night the dogs started getting all crazy so I went outside to see if it was something I could shoot. A herd of elk came walking through our camp. When i turned on the my light I think I scared the bull elk he gave out a call and all his cows went running to him.
Oh, and as we were leaving to go home about a mile out of camp we got a flat tire, and it was dark of course.
